We Go With the Missionaries to Hel

Last Monday, June 3, we got on the train and went to Hel with the missionaries, returning that afternoon. If you are a missionary in Gdańsk this trip is a must. The weather was perfect. Our train unexpectedly stopped for 30 minutes and we passed the time playing riddle games amongst ourselves. This was Sister Sand’s first P-day and it was a good one.

Hel is located on the tip of a peninsula jutting out into the Baltic. It forms the easternmost top of the Gulf of Gdańsk. Over the centuries it has probably been mostly a sea town with fishermen or sailors. Today it is a tourist mecca. We walked along the seashore and then ate lunch. After lunch we got a special treat – a waffle cooked to order with strawberries and whipped cream. Ooh so delicious.
