Darrell’s workforce

This Thursday I helped Darrell landscape his property in Spanish Fork. We chopped down ~8 small trees and hauled them to the dump. The house looks way better already (but could still use a remodeling down to the studs). Then on Friday me and Julia tended Lewis and Hallie for a few hours while Darrell and Missy went to see parade of homes. Both of the kids are always very well behaved for us: I don’t think a single tear was shed (although we were close when Lewis stubbed his toe). We got them in the tub, read them some stories, and put them to bed with minimal coercion 😂.

At work, we’re trying to recreate some work done by a few Brazilian professors with volumetric displays. We had a few questions, so we set up a zoom call with three of them and showed them our results. They recommended a few strategies to reduce noise and even agreed to send us their code and pictures of their setup. For some reason I was intimidated to contact these professors who had published in a renowned journal, but it was neat to see that they were just nice guys trying to solve the same problems we are.

On Saturday, Julia and I found a branch of the provo river near Utah lake that was warmer and slower moving. We had to jump in.

On Sunday Julia’s roommates and I went up provo canyon and found a beautiful place to hammock over the creek
