Our time in Gdánsk, Poland was such a dream. Traveling internationally was a little intimidating at first, but luckily we did make it there just in time for Grand & Sharon’s weekly english class.
We squeezed so many fun things into our time there. Trying to not write a novel here so to keep it on the shorter side. If I had to pick a favorite thing about the entire trip. It would have been walking up and down the streets of Gdánsk at night. It was absolutely breathtaking. Even with it being pretty darn cold I wanted to be out there all night.
Bryant’s two favorites (though he says it’s hard to pick so few) would be going to the beaches and searching for Amber & touring around Malbork Castle. Some additional honorable mentions (because we can’t help ourselves):
- Meeting the Sisters & Elders that were serving alongside Elder & Sister Dearden
- Chimney Cakes were sooo yummy
- Riding on all of the different trains
- Visiting the historical post office & seeing that amazing sculpture
- Getting to see the cool cemetery
- The amber Museum (instilling the desire for the deardens to dip their toes into cold water in search of their very own!)
- Some of the hilarious paintings and sculptures in buildings we toured (if you know, you know)
- Buying candy from their very large candy store (I was in heaven)
- Getting to see Grant & Sharon in action during church on Sunday
- Trying so much new food: some good, some amazing & some..I may not try again
- The dumplings from Mandu, the egg paste from Babette’s & Danish donuts (I won’t attempt to spell)
- & seeing Benson Boone at the airport multiple times on the trip to Gdansk (I fan girled from far away)
A HUGE thank you to Grant & Sharon for letting us crazy kids stay with them in their apartment, making sure we got on all the right trains, filling our week with the most fun activities and to Sharon for catching that train we all sprinted for…and ended up having 5+ minutes until departure.
