Baptism of Vitalii Unchanskyi

Our branch increased in numbers today with the baptism of Vitalii Unchanskyi. It was an overcast day and a little on the cool side, especially for a baptism in the Baltic.

Vitalii is a humble man, a shipbuilder in the shipyard here in Gdańsk who wanted to better himself in our English class. He liked what he felt and told the Elders early on that, “I want to join you guys.”

I was thrilled to be a witness for the baptism which meant wading out into the sea and making sure the ordinance was done correctly. Vitalii is from Ukraine and his native language is Russian so Elder Heath gave the baptismal prayer in Russian.

The water was cold but the Spirit was warm!
